Ihlara Valley, Guzelyurt

#1 of 8 in Things to do in Guzelyurt
Explore the cave churches decorated with historic frescoes in Ihlara Valley. Located near two of the region's three volcanoes, the valley was formed by the Melendiz River thousands of years ago, and is dotted with small villages and populated by a range of wildlife including lizards, butterflies, eagles, lambs, and sheep. Approximately 80,000 people once lived in the valley, which has four entrances. The first entrance is located at the village that marks the start of the road through the valley. The second--and most popular--entrance opens to the fourth km (2.5 miles in) of the valley and has more than 300 steps leading down into it, as well as a visitor center, parking lot, ticket booth, restrooms, and restaurant. The third entrance is through Belisirma village and is the only way to access the valley by car, and the fourth entrance is at the end of the valley near the local monastery. Note that to learn more about the specific history of the cave churches and other parts of the valley, it is best to go on a guided tour or a trekking tour, both of which can be booked at the visitor center, or prior to your arrival at the site. • Ihlara Valley a tremendous phenomenon, after seeing this place like it or not, it is not possible to migrate. Here you can visit on your own, but take a tour playing better, guides you to the right way. Ihlara Valley entry 45 minutes depending on your walking speed when you maybe 1 hour are driving a route, and exit at the end of the Valley. Had expected the same way at the end of the tour tools Valley will not have to go back. The Valley is quite numerous for a ride down the stairs at the end of the stairs, you start by, after relaxing a bit starts the March trip. Travel along water, trees, rocks are driving by admiring the magnificent shapes. There's a church on the route but the chapel's maintenance or our people there. In addition, you will be greeted with a cave carved into the mountain. The walk is long peppy go. This is where I toured in impress, one of the places I like. If you have the opportunity, go see, definitely.

  • Ille de tour destinations list 1. I say order. Why? Ihlara Valley a perfect place for hiking and a 4 to 5 km from the beginning of the other head already has space on the border of Aksaray. Arriving by car, of course I'll go walk walk and then back all the way to the car, however, and very tiring and a waste of time. If you go to walk throughout the Valley bitimind Valley tour a break then place food back on the village bus. If the tour can be expensive, but also drive the vehicle away without worrying about the keep because there is another taste of March
