  • One of the stops of the Green tour. After we visited the jewelry factory we had 5 min to enjoy the view over the valley. Lots of beautiful pigeons.  more »
  • My family had a blast hiking this beautiful valley trail. We took a cab to the castle from Goreme and then just hiked the trail back. Nice 1 hour adventure.  more »
  • A wonderful and engaging area. It is the perfect place to meander and take your time as you photograph and observe nature. Though it is overall simple and straight forward, one short and steep area....  more »

  • Beautiful place with the amazing view of the valley. I'd suggest drinking a cup of delicious turkish coffee here on sunset with the beautiful range of colors constantly changing. It's an amazing experience with the cave hotels on the side with the castle and the whole valley right in front of you! P.S. Ask why it's called the pigeon valley if you don't already know it. Enjoy! 😄
  • Large and beautiful valley with lots of greenery as well as some tourist shops at the entrance. Its name surely come from the pigeons idling on a steep wall at the entrance of the valley. A 4 km hiking trail leads through the valley, which provides great landscapes. Definitely worth a visit.
  • I had a visit to this valley in September 2019. Though the temperature was as high as 35 degrees, there was a pleasant breeze all throughout. The caves we could visit were great. The scenery added to the pleasant experience. A must visit and is just 10 mins walk from the Citadel of Uchisar, both places can be covered back to back.
  • Beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Multiple cafes and restaurants. Amazing ancient houses carved out of the rock facings. Easy walk down into the valley. Pity there is some rubbish around and it isn't better cared for by tourists or locals
  • An excellent walk that leaves the crowds behind and allows you to really enjoy the rock formations. The route is well signposted until about KM2.5 when a signpost has been removed. Trails at this point seem to lead to The valley floor but end in precipitous drops - dangerous! You need to walk back up Calgar Tea Garden car park. Do also watch out for the open sewer in the valley - it’s a bit smelly and mucky.
