  • This church is in the Zemi valley and you need to walk because cars are not allowed but it is not far. The entrance is 5 liras, if you have a museum card it is free.The frescos are very well protected...  more »
  • El Nazar church is a bit of a hike from the main road into Göreme and the road is hot and dusty. Good shoes are necessary, but so is a good attitude. We noticed other people who grumbled about the 5 l...  more »

  • I loved this little church off the road but be ready for a short hike. It will take you 20 minutes at a leisurely stroll to arrive. However, the frescoes are worth the walk. Also, there is a 5-10TL charge per person to go inside the church.
  • A small church, ticket costs 10 TL.
  • The first Christian communities appeared in Cappadocia in the 2nd century AD. The reason was simple-intensified persecution of the early Christians. Underground cities (particularly monasteries) began to emerge in the IV century thanks to the monks of these communities. As a result, by the end of the first Millennium was built around 3 thousand cave churches and hermitages. All the churches were richly decorated with colored frescoes. Those that have survived, dated back to the 9th-11th centuries. Not all my images are preserved, so the second photo site with you guys

  • Carved into a fairy chimney El Nazar Church, 'T ' shaped, cross arms are vaulted. Tombs of the Eastern arm. Opens the central place, where the main apse cross arm. All the floor and destroyed a part of the apse. The scenes follow each other chronologically. The two artists by archaic style painted Church of Jesus in children, youth, and miracles. El Nazar Church, 10. It dates to the 18th century.
