  • Lovely stroll down to the church, but if you come during off-season, it will be closed. That’s the only reason for the three stars. Have to give a rating. Trying to be neutral.  more »
  • We went on Saturday at 12 noon December 23, 2017 was closed. We went to church walk around a km officer did not find the relevant, knowledgeable people. I think I need to go in during office hours on weekdays

  • Walk from Goreme between valleys, about 2 km. and you will find this beautiful isolated Church. The entrance fee is a fee 5 Tl, but worth it, the guardian dear tells paintings really well kept and then offers tea, as welcoming as almost all Turks met in our weeks.

  • I loved this little church off the road but be ready for a short hike. It will take you 20 minutes at a leisurely stroll to arrive. However, the frescoes are worth the walk. Also, there is a 5-10TL charge per person to go inside the church.
  • A small church, ticket costs 10 TL.
  • Beautiful picturesque Church in the rock vineyard dates back to the late 10-beginning of 11 century. Easily find the road sign, turn right in the Valley with a road leading from the Göreme Open-air museum. Church of El Nazar called the Church does self-denying. The entrance ticket costs 5 lire. Murals inside survived well enough compared to other churches, but still badly damaged, confused faces. On the walls of the Church depict scenes from the life of Jesus Christ-Christmas, Epiphany, resurrection of Lazarus, the entry into Jerusalem, the crucifixion, the resurrection, the Ascension. Scenes of the Annunciation, visitation, Mary Elizabeth, Candlemas.

  • Do not go there very muddy roads in the winter. Car entry ban but have free parking at the entrance to the path of the Church.

  • The first Christian communities appeared in Cappadocia in the 2nd century AD. The reason was simple-intensified persecution of the early Christians. Underground cities (particularly monasteries) began to emerge in the IV century thanks to the monks of these communities. As a result, by the end of the first Millennium was built around 3 thousand cave churches and hermitages. All the churches were richly decorated with colored frescoes. Those that have survived, dated back to the 9th-11th centuries. Not all my images are preserved, so the second photo site with you guys
