The Helles Memorial is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission war memorial near Sedd el Bahr, Turkey. The memorial serves the dual function of being a Commonwealth battle memorial for the whole Gallipoli Campaign and place of commemoration for 20,885 Commonwealth servicemen who died there and have no known grave. The memorial takes the form of an obelisk and is over 30 metres high.The United Kingdom and Indian forces named on the memorial died in operations throughout the peninsula, the Australians at Helles.   • We will remember them. Big car park. Great views from here. There is a Turkish emplacement to walk round on the other side of the road.
  • A very solemn yet not crowdy place. If you are in the neighborhood, it is worth it to go there. The obelisk can be recognized from far away
