Categories: Neighborhoods, Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
At Old Town, shop, drink, and eat your way through the oldest parts of the city. A mixture of both old and new, the area supports stores, bars, restaurants, and cafes of all kinds. Sitting in the shadow of an old castle, this quarter offers many parks, complete with benches and fountains. Purchase local handicrafts and souvenirs--you'll have your pick of buying from small boutiques or large brand-name stores. Indulge in a Turkish massage or experience a Turkish bath. Don't miss out on the fish market, where you can see all sorts of exotic seafood. You can choose your fish and take it to the restaurant of your choice; simply tell them how you want it prepared, and they'll cook it fresh for you. It's a lovely way to spend a summer evening to wander around the shops in Fethiye's old town. There;s a lot of fake goods/seconds, but also great rug shops and Turkish bazaars.
Tucked away at the bottom of the town next to the marina, full of traditional shops. Many friendly shopkeepers selling good products and the obligatory genuine fakes. Well worth the visit
