  • Magnificent and abandoned
  • It's a beautiful architecture, but unfortunately the brains have written all over it.

  • We don't want this church to turn out like this again. My fellow Derinkuyulu countrymen. Read the article first, then think about what we don't do In the town of Derinkuyu in Nevşehir, 19. Did you know that the Church of Grapes (Theodoros Trion), a Greek church of one of the Most Important Churches of Cappadocia in the 19th century, was built by Sultan Abdülmecid Khan? St. Theodoros Trion Church (Church of grapes) One of the region's most important Greek settlements, the 19th century, was a city in the 19th century. St. Theodoros Trion Church, also known as the grape church of the 19th century, was built by the Ottomans under the Treaty of Ayastefanos in exchange for war reparations under Sultan Abdulmecid. The Greek inscription of the church reads: "This very sacred church of Agios Theodoros Trion, during the reign of Emperor Sultan Abdülmecid Khan, with the high will of St. Ichonion (metropolitan) Neofitos Effendi, and with the donations of Christians residing here (Malakopi) Kiriako papadopoulos was built with the master's efforts. It was dedicated to Agios Theodoros and was blessed. And may God bless this country from all dangers through his (Agios Theodoros). Amen. The year is May 1858, May 15..." The Church of St. Theodoros Trion, which attracts more attention from foreign tourists, attracts not only architecture, but also the richness of architectural plastic decorations and the high quality of monumental murals. It is stated that the construction of the church was influenced by Seljuk architecture. The Grape Church hosts a spring mass every year in May, attended by Greek Fener Patriarch Bartemelos.

  • The church, which is great out of it every time I come in. Derinkuyu is located right next to the underground city. There is no sign or attendant that provides information about why it is closed. However, if it were opened to visitors, it would be a very popular spot.

  • The main structure is very well preserved. But you can't get into it. According to the residents, he was opening a mass for the Greeks in August. There's a lot of spray-paint on the outer walls. Such a beautiful structure should not be left so wandering. If necessary, make the entrance 5 pounds 10 pounds, restore the inside, protect the outside, bring to tourism. It's a shame, it's a real shame.
