It is a perfect and unique place. I strongly suggest to visit here. The tunnels are often pretty narrow. If you are not fit, you can visit Derinkuyu underground city. But here is much more better than...  more »

  • Very interesting. But ... not my type. We only spent 20 minutes inside. I can see some people (like my husband) would like to spend hours there but for me it's just empty tunnels and spaces... it's a bit scary to me to be honest. Imagine people had to live here to escape the raids on the ground. People and animals had to eat, release themselves, sleep and even die all underground... I would have mental problem staying here more than 24 hours alone.
  • We enjoyed this a lot, great cave system, though it only makes sense in our opinion to walk through there with a guide to explain you the different chambers and functions. We negotiated for ours a price of 50TRY which seemed fair for a 1 hour private tour. Please note that a lot of times you will have to almost crawl through tight and low ceiling tunnels, so if you do have a back/neck/hip/knee condition, are claustrophobic or obese then I recommend to not visit this underground city
  • Well another great adventure in Turkey Me my wife and out 8 month old spend about 2 hours underground. It wasn't to hot and by taking our time and several water / baby feeding breaks it worked out well. Several time we sat down in a random cave to take a break. This really made imagining living here come to life. Great piece of history Path is well put together and well kept. Not to crowded the day we went. Not for those who don't like small spaces, however even carrying a baby kangaroo style there is room for the adventurous
  • awesome underground tunnels and you can walk around and explore on your own. super fun.
  • This underground city is good, hard to believe 10,000 people lived here. It was also connected to Derinkuyu that was found in 1967.
