Mt. Olympos (Tahtali Dag), Cirali

4.5
#3 of 7 in Things to do in Cirali
Head to Mt. Olympos (Tahtali Dag) for unmatched views of the sea and the surrounding region at a dizzying height of 2,366 m (7,762 ft). You can reach the top of the mountain by funicular, which will take you for a 4,350 m (14,270 ft) long journey. The site is rich with natural beauty, so consider hiking uphill through the Mediterranean forests. Also of interest here are pockets of underground gas that produce eternal flames--the subject of ancient myths and legends. Stop for a drink in a coffee shop at the summit. Be aware that numerous paragliding centers use this spot for take-offs. Take the guesswork out of planning a Cirali vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

  • Place very much. In previous years there had been raised on foot this time climbed to the lift. With us were 6 children and 3 year. The children enjoyed it as adults. Very nice upstairs. From there, one of the parents flew on a paraglider, too, weight of impressions. In General, I recommend:)

  • On top of Tahtali (2365 m) can be climbed for 30 minutes from the coast on lazy (cableway). But we are not looking for easy ways, we, of course, go on foot. The road to the stones, loose, I dropped a couple of times (poderla hand), sprained his leg in the downhill.  We climbed to the top of 3:00, at a fast pace (after lunch to find the clouds and close all beautiful), need to hurry. Martian species. All the while feeling like I was on a foreign planet.  Atop-civilization. Café, Internet access, lounge chairs and tourists light (ladies in dresses, with make-up, men in white brjuchkah). And we are zapyhannye, not washed, tired. Everything was in a light mist, hazy, but the sea, the village, the mountains could be seen. The descent was not easier to climb, a very large strain on the knees. Stepping on the stone, you're not sure that he did not slip off and you are not proedeshsja on the fifth point a couple of meters.

  • Beautiful view, quite tasty dinner, but nevertheless, I think that the price is inflated due to wake up.
