Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Bodrum City
(1.8/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Admire Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the only standing historic site of the original Seven Wonders of Antiquity. Built in the 4th century BCE, this 1,500-year-old mausoleum is known for the novelty of its architectural style compared to other buildings of its time. Although many of the artifacts from the mauseoleum are on display in museums around the world, the ruins here include column pieces that display ancient Greek stone-carving work, an ancient stairway, and parts of mosaics. View some of these artifacts and mosaics at the museum adjacent to the ruins and learn about the history behind them. Wear comfortable shoes so you can get around easily. Note that the site is readily accessible from the city center and local metro station. • Really nice and easy accessible museum. Located on a street parallel to the main road between the Oasis and the bus station in Bodrum. Lättöverskåådligt with a small indoor map over the mausoleum and Halicarnassus.

  • The photos here show everything one sees on the ground actually. Excavated remains of the famous mausoleum. I personally can think of even after on-site visit simply not imagine how gorgeous this building must have been one to represent one of the 7 Wonders of the world. Historically this is not worth a really interesting place, however the money. You must be accumulations of stones elsewhere (Kos for example) free see and there even with better remains. Who has nothing better to do and has money left - goes over, otherwise prefer something look different (Castle, for example).
