Set out on a journey through Anatolia's history, starting from the Paleolithic Age and ending with the present day at Anatolian Civilizations Museum. Housed in a restored 15th-century Ottoman bazaar, the museum features over 200,000 artifacts, a portion of which are exhibited in chronological order. See the deer-shaped statuettes from the Early Bronze Age, Neolithic wall paintings, Paleolithic stone and bone tools, İznik pottery, and what is reputedly the world's most extensive collection of Hittite artifacts. Stop to have lunch in the historical setting of the nearby citadel or in one of several restaurants on the hill. • Museum with a variety and quality of objects, not very large but if you visit Ankara, next to the mausoleum are two visits mandatory. Located on a hill with a nice view panoramic. It is an archaeological museum that shows various objects from the Hittites to more recent times. Excellent

  • As the content is very rich. Many works about human life in Anatolia. Come to Ankara that it would be a shame to literally go to the Museum.

  • I visited this Museum in the company of some colleagues. The Museum is maintained very well, and fortunately in the day we were there was not too much crowding. The exhibits are not very many but perfectly riscostruiscono the history of Anatolia from the very beginning. Having regard to the little crowded we were able to visit the Museum in a couple of hours, pausing occasionally to read some more details on some memorabilia on display. I think this museum is the best place in Ankara where to see some history.

  • One of the best and content rich museum in Turkey. This museum opens a passage not just to the past of Anatolia but also evalution of mankind. My experience was trilling, it is a must be visited museum.
  • A must visit place if you like to know more about human history. This museum specializes in cultures and people lived in this region throughout the history. When you think about civilization (yes I mean civilization not people) existing in Anatolia (asio minor) as far as 10.000 BC if not even longer than that before, you can imagine what this museum might contain.
  • Unbelievable place! The ticket might look expensive to you after all Turkish cheapness, but this place is just awesome with so much history starting from ancient Mesopotamia, Anatolia and so much more!
  • Very impressive. If you are interest in Hittite Empire, you should visit this museum.
  • Wonderful. You will love in museum.
