(4.5/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web)
Set out on a journey through Anatolia's history, starting from the Paleolithic Age and ending with the present day at Anadolu Medeniyetleri Muzesi. Housed in a restored 15th-century Ottoman bazaar, the museum features over 200,000 artifacts, a portion of which are exhibited in chronological order. See the deer-shaped statuettes from the Early Bronze Age, Neolithic wall paintings, Paleolithic stone and bone tools, İznik pottery, and what is reputedly the world's most extensive collection of Hittite artifacts. • Rooted in history of Anatolia at that time was so much fun to learn with things used. A little history on the front read and research and, if it is always more pleasant happening. It is possible to take pictures without Flash. I was impressed of the most jewelry. Despite all the odds, is quite detailed and estetiklerdi.

  • A terrific journey to the humankind history starting from the early paleontic age. An important fact about the museum: it has won the best museum award for Europe once
  • Anatolian Civilizations museum is located at the old town of Ankara near the Ankara Castle and it has been awarded as the first one for the election of the European Museum of the Year in 1997. Strongly recommended.
  • I love history but I was in heaven when I visited there, overloaded with information , loved it. Can't wait to go back.
  • One of the best and content rich museum in Turkey. This museum opens a passage not just to the past of Anatolia but also evalution of mankind. My experience was trilling, it is a must be visited museum.
  • A must visit place if you like to know more about human history. This museum specializes in cultures and people lived in this region throughout the history. When you think about civilization (yes I mean civilization not people) existing in Anatolia (asio minor) as far as 10.000 BC if not even longer than that before, you can imagine what this museum might contain.
