Natural History Museum History Museum
Set out on a journey through Anatolia's history, starting from the Paleolithic Age and ending with the present day at Anadolu Medeniyetleri Muzesi. Housed in a restored 15th-century Ottoman bazaar, the museum features over 200,000 artifacts, a portion of which are exhibited in chronological order. See the deer-shaped statuettes from the Early Bronze Age, Neolithic wall paintings, Paleolithic stone and bone tools, İznik pottery, and what is reputedly the world's most extensive collection of Hittite artifacts. Stop to have lunch in the historical setting of the nearby citadel or in one of several restaurants on the hill. Where to stay in Ankara

Among the Roman ruins and citadels of the city of Ankara sits a collection of glitzy, upscale chain hotels. This cosmopolitan city may not be the best choice for the budget-conscious, so if shelling out a lot of money isn't your prerogative, look a little north of the city core to the independent hotels which are a bit more moderately priced. Alternatively, opt for an authentic, family-run Ottoman inn or boutique hotel. You'll find only one hostel here, which tends to fill up quickly.
