  • It is an important place for turkish history. The Museum itself was small and sadly no English, so we could only guess the meanings.
  • An important place to visit to understand the recent history of Turkish Republic, and how challengingly it was founded.
  • The foundations of the young Turkish Republic
  • The Museum is located in Piazza "Ulus", reflecting the facts of the war of independence in the form of pictures and documents. This is the first Parliament in the Turkish Republic. The origin of the word old Ankara is INCORA, is a name I call it alfrigion rulers who flourished in their time (about 1000 BC), also known as ankira, dating its founding to a Hittite civilization during the bronze age. Controlled allidion and Persians who continued its long periods until the defeat of Alexander of Macedon conquered by Ankara in 323 BC. The city witnessed another expansion however by Greeks who provided approximately 300 BC, with trade point for goods between the Black Sea and Anatolia and the Levant and Persia and Armenia. Seized by the Romans led by Augustus in 25 BC and since then became the capital of the Roman province of Galatia. The Goths invaded several times and then the Arabs under the rule of Queen Zenobia, Emperor Aurelian returned to Roman authority in 272. Took its place as the second capital of the Byzantine State in the late fourth century a.d. when it became the summer resort of the emperors, they get away from free Constantinople and moisture. After the advent of Islam and Muslims and rotation conquests movement breadth Byzantines take over the city several times, and continued importance stemming from its strategic location as a crossroads. Ankara was chosen as the capital of the Turkish Republic in 1923 after the announcement, and was located in inner Anatolia significant impact on this choice, the leaders at that time-in front of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-they wanted to protect the capital and as far away from threats to Allied armies that were cruising the Bosphorus And the Aegean Sea, as well as being the headquarters of Turkish troops involved in the war of independence.

  • Take a tour of our children we must especially be sure. Because this country will be entrusted to them. Schools should show the students. The most important building of the Republic and of our national struggle. Our great leader Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK gratefully. His trust is one of the buildings to be counted.

Where to stay in Ankara

Among the Roman ruins and citadels of the city of Ankara sits a collection of glitzy, upscale chain hotels. This cosmopolitan city may not be the best choice for the budget-conscious, so if shelling out a lot of money isn't your prerogative, look a little north of the city core to the independent hotels which are a bit more moderately priced. Alternatively, opt for an authentic, family-run Ottoman inn or boutique hotel. You'll find only one hostel here, which tends to fill up quickly.
