Çok güzel bir antik kent hala sağlam ayakta duran meydan, kütüphane binası, tiyatro ve çeşmeler, sokaklar var. kesinlikle Isparta ve Burdur'a gidenlerin gidip görmesi gereken bir mekan. Araba ile Ağla... more »It's a beautiful ancient city still standing solid challenge, library building, the theatre and the fountains, the streets there. definitely needs to go of Burdur and Isparta. After the Village by car district. After only a little more road bends and eight from County falls to the Ribbon, but nice. At the entrance, toilet, parking and rest areas there still at the entry plates long, medium and short they put the tour guide according to your time and energy you can follow one of this tour. I go to the theatre building above. Ear thquak ES has played some places at the entrance. When I first went out more recently renewed but still protects building properties. Also don't forget to drink water from the floor in the entry. Really tasty and even still a cool water in hot weather. Isparta, Aglasun have beautiful water between but water to drink if you know the difference. The water bottle in your hand you won't enjoy. I took a couple of times our guests at the venue. Everyone loved it. The altitude is high in the spring, you'll need to get something on you. Because it blows.

On the side of the hill that rises above and its stunning views of Alexander's Hill and beyond, Sagalassos is one of the most delightful wonders of Turkey. Considering that %80 of the settlement is original, it is very well preserved. The highest point is where the amphitheatre is and there is breath-taking scenery of the hills and the rest of the findings up there. At The Antoine Nymphaeum, the natural spring water fountain still runs as it used to do so and this fact makes Sagalassos unique among other ancient settlements in Turkey. It is a must to visit the Burdur Archeology Museum right after your wander here in order to see more sculptures, statues and other findings from Sagalassos.

Excellent ruins. Interesting history. Definitely worth seeing. (A word of caution, but only if you wish to see all of the ruins: to see all of the ruins takes just under 5 hours). The nearest village's name in Turkish: Ağlasun; for your sat nav.

The photos make the place look very vacant, however, the ruins and archeological site is becoming more popular with travelers. Entrance is a reasonable 10tl and there are plenty of plaques to read as you walk about. The site is an active archeological site (university of belgium) during the summer months (July and August only), and volunteer tours are available in multiple languages. Elsa from Belgium showed me around in English, and made the visit extremely worthwhile.

Sagalassos is an incredible ancient city built on the side of the mountain. Make sure you bring good walking shoes and plenty of water. Depending on when you come a light wind breaker would also be something great to have. It can get pretty windy! Finally, If you have time make sure you visit the museum in Burdur! It is a wonderful little museum with many of the artifacts coming from Sagalassos!
