  • Unfortunately when we visited the area in September 2015 the Snake Castle was closed for renovation. Probably it would still be accessible, but a guard a 100 meters up the path would not let us pass. ...  more »
  • You can only walk up to the castle at this time as extensive renovation work is ongoing. They did not know when it would be finished, but at least it looks to be sympathetically done  more »

  • Amazing Armenian castle from the 12th Century ! Fantastic views from the top. Although its a but ruggedy hiking to the top dont give up, its definitely worth it.
  • Visited in 1997. Beautiful location for a stronghold to watch and guard against foreign armies.
  • One of our historical heritage sights in passing. It's hard to get out, to get tough, but it's worth it. It's up a little run-down but incomplete restoration work, next to a beautiful tea garden tea.:)
