Medina of Hammamet, Hammamet

3.1
The historical heart of town, Medina of Hammamet encompasses a walled district constructed in the 15th century. The medina's battlements enclose labyrinthine streets flanked by stores and stalls selling clothing, jasmine products, spices, cooking implements, and ornaments. The whitewashed homes have been decorated with bright blue embellishments, making the area a very photogenic part of town. • The Medina of Hammamet is very pretty. There are several shops and is pleasant to walk or sit at a bar. The souk is very impressive, as all other Tunisians, it's always worth a visit. You can get lost in alleyways and bazaars and can also be interesting photographs. There are also restaurants, eat a bit of everything and you can get there by taxi which cost very little.

  • This review speaks of the "medina" near Carthage Land. There are only articles types sneakers, brand shirts and sports jackets. Like so many other reviews, I would point out that it is a place where we put pressure to buy with a perfectly routine. A puller, on the beach or boulevard accosts you by telling you that he recognize you from your hotel where he worked and today ' today is the last of two days of "feast of the federation". He adds that it's like our fairs in France, so there is business to be done. He then takes you into the souk itself, after a large square and next to Carthage Land. In one of the first stores, you meet another man, then another that says he'll offer you a cup of coffee, a tea or fanta and must be accepted because it is "Muslim hospitality" (I wonder what Muslim friends would think). Finally, another tells you what state official, and so his shop is cheaper than a private dealer. He knows all the names of agency travel and hotels nearby. Change you (still) be given by another store. One of the two men who gave back it to eventually take a tip top. Being on vacation, I wanted to test all the way but it is true that the whole of the maneuver is long and unpleasant. A good example of dole.

  • The look also Medina of Hammamet. It is a feel good and sunset is sinking. It is a monument in the square of Medina and the Kasbah. Café is located next to the monument and is eating and drinking while watching the sea people. My husband is borrowed toilet at the Café. It was free. While watching the Sea you'll do a little bit next to the Kasbah. It is a nice landscape to this coastline.

  • Lots of shops need to savvy with how the locals sell. Don't give in to them or feel bad just say no when it's a no. Don't buy out of guilt. Some of them have decent wares but their approach can put you off.
  • Cute little labyrinth of small streets filled with shops and cafes. Merchants are everywhere and always ready to haggle over price so be ready. Nice place for souvenirs and if you are in buying fakes :) But be careful of those saying they work at your hotel...they are not.
  • All inclusive for 1 week in late August weather beautiful staff were fantastic and friendly, food was good plenty of bars to choose from overall had a great holiday and would return again.
  • Great place keep cool prepare to be invited into many shops great experience though.
  • Clean, cosy, historical, extremely cheap restaurants/fast food.
