The historical heart of town, Medina of Hammamet encompasses a walled district constructed in the 15th century. The medina's battlements enclose labyrinthine streets flanked by stores and stalls selling clothing, jasmine products, spices, cooking implements, and ornaments. The whitewashed homes have been decorated with bright blue embellishments, making the area a very photogenic part of town. Medina of Hammamet reviews

We were here in February. With young children. Whilst walking towards the medina a man approached us and said he recognised us from our hotel. He got talking to us and said he would show us around..... more »

The Medina is a lovely place to visit, the markets have everything you could every need. The only issue is if you don’t like to haggle you can pay over the price, haggle is part of the experience... more »

Very quiet this time of year. Limited number of businesses open. We would re-visit at a different time of year more »

Amazing history, visited the local mosque very historical with olden style design, has a small souk in the medina lots of shops like a maze, also by the sea you can view the beautiful sunset. Many places to eat and drink or just relax by the sea watching the calm waves.
-
But boring nothing there apart from men hassling you. A little walk up the road to the main high street much better
-
Very beautiful. The labyrinth street structure and the beautiful doors and windows of the homes and shops are amazing. Very well maintained and you really feel as if you're in the past walking on the streets. The shop owners are somewhat annoying when the keep inviting you to enter their store but not too much of a bother. Definitely a must visit if you're in Hammamet
-
Full of people harrasing you to go into their shops. We were so looking forward to seeing the medina but this ruined it for us. Everywhere you went there was people wanting you to buy something
-
Great old place.watch out for getting a good price that you are happy with the traders....stick to your guns or prepare to walk. Fantastic place.
