A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.

Get out of town with these interesting Portland side-trips: The Historic Carousel and Museum (in Albany) and Horsetail Falls- Columbia River Gorge (in Hood River). There's lots more to do: get a dose of the wild on Volcano Lands - Private Tours, steep yourself in history at Columbia River Highway, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Tabor Park, and wander the streets of Northwest (Nob Hill).
