With a population of just over 100,000 people, this small but populous town is best known for its production of tin ore, found in Bentong's two rivers, and its production of timber and rubber.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Fri): look for all kinds of wild species at Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre and then examine the collection at Bentong Upside Down House. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: identify plant and animal life at Kechara Forest Retreat, see the interesting displays at Bentong Gallery, then make a trip to Chin Swee Cave Temple, and finally experience rural life at Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm.

The capital of Malaysia's third-largest state, busy Kuantan remains generally untouristed, yet continues to grow as a residential urban community.
On the 2nd (Sun), make a trip to Sri Marathandavar Aalayam Temple, then enjoy the sand and surf at Teluk Chempedak, then don't miss a visit to Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Sungai Pandan Waterfall. Pulau Tioman

Thick, verdant jungle blankets the hilly island of Pulau Tioman, dotted with steep cliffs and tumbling waterfalls, and filled with rare species such as bearcats, giant flying squirrels, slow lorises, and Tioman "walking" catfish.
