The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, boasts an impressive medieval quarter--one of the continent's largest and a World Heritage Site with almost 2,000 historical buildings.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Gate of Dawn and Vilniaus staciatikiu Sventosios Dvasios vienuolynas. Let the collections at Gediminas Castle Tower and Vilnil. Museum of illusions capture your imagination. Step out of Vilnius to go to Trakai and see Trakai Island Castle Museum, which is approximately 36 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Hill of Three Crosses, get the lay of the land with Walking tours, visit Uzupis, and view the masterpieces at Tsekh Vilnius.
