Inhabited for millennia, the city of Bukhara boasts a World Heritage-listed center teeming with historic mosques, madrassas, pools, and ancient ruins.
Gijduvan ceramics of The Narzullaevs and Art Museum Kamoliddin Behzod will appeal to museum buffs. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Bakhautdin Naqsband Mausoleum and Abdulaziz-Khan Madrasah. Step out of Bukhara to go to Gijduvan and see Ulugbek Madrasah, which is approximately 1h 45 min away. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Fayzulla Khujayev House, see the interesting displays at History of Bukhara Puppet Theatre, contemplate the long history of Chasma Ayub Mausoleum, and admire the landmark architecture of Balyand Mosque.

Traveling from Bukhara in June, you will find days in Samarkand are little chillier (39°C), and nights are about the same (22°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Wed) early enough to travel to Khiva.
