The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Wine Tours & Tastings and The King Center. Explore Atlanta's surroundings by going to Tellus Science Museum (in Cartersville), Biblical History Center (in LaGrange) and Ellijay (Build an Ark Animal Rescue & Engelheim Vineyards). There's much more to do: admire the natural beauty at Swan House, deepen your understanding at Emory University, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and hike along Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail.

To see maps, other places to visit, where to stay, and tourist information, you can read our Atlanta trip website.

Anchorage to Atlanta is an approximately 11-hour flight. You can also drive. You'll lose 4 hours traveling from Anchorage to Atlanta due to the time zone difference. Prepare for much warmer weather when traveling from Anchorage in March: high temperatures in Atlanta hover around 65°F and lows are around 45°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sat) to allow time to fly back home.
