Way out west, the small city of Dwarka has a long history of pilgrimage, as a place central to Hindu mythology and belief.

Amritsar to Dwarka is an approximately 11.5-hour combination of flight and train. You can also drive; or take a train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) so you can drive to Diu.

The main town on the island of the same name, Diu connects to the south coast of Gujurat by bridge.

On the 11th (Thu), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gangeshwar Temple, stroll through Nagoa Beach, then pause for some serene contemplation at St Thomas Church, and finally steep yourself in history at Diu Fort.

You can drive from Dwarka to Diu in 5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of train and taxi; or take a bus. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Somnath.

Tourism in Somnath (officially known as Prabhas Patan) revolves around its famous Jyotirlinga of Shiva.

Drive from Diu to Somnath in 1.5 hours. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Sasan Gir.

Traveling by car from Somnath to Sasan Gir takes 1.5 hours. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can travel to Rajkot.
