Kids will enjoy Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Take a break from Los Angeles with a short trip to Downtown Disney District in Anaheim, about 36 minutes away. Pack the 26th (Sun) with family-friendly diversions at Universal Studios Hollywood. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at The Getty Center, admire the striking features of Walt Disney Concert Hall, look and learn at Griffith Observatory, and shop like a local with The Grove.

On the 28th (Tue), stroll around Sunset Cliffs Natural Park and then meet the residents at San Diego Zoo. Keep things going the next day: let little ones run wild at Balboa Park and then appreciate the history behind Cabrillo National Monument.
