New York City to South Lake Tahoe is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is usually a -3 hour difference. When traveling from New York City in May, plan for slightly colder days and much colder nights in South Lake Tahoe: temperatures range from 63°F by day to 35°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Fri) so you can travel to Yosemite National Park.

Mono Hot Springs — 3 nights

Mono Hot Springs is a summer resort, campground, unincorporated community, and a group of hot springs in Fresno County, central California. Kick off your visit on the 10th (Tue): explore the activities along Florence Lake and then tour the pleasant surroundings at California Route 36. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get outside with Black Point Fissures and then get outside with Sierra Vista Scenic Byway.
