8 days in Seattle & Portland Itinerary

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.

Step off the beaten path and head to Puget Sound Express and Bruce Lee Grave Site. Escape the urban bustle at Snoqualmie Falls and Washington Park Arboretum. There's much more to do: wander the streets of Pike Place Market, get a taste of the local shopping with Bellevue Square, examine the collection at The Museum of Flight, and take in panoramic vistas at Space Needle.

Indianapolis to Seattle is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Cannon Beach and Live Laugh Love Art. Get out of town with these interesting Portland side-trips: Hug Point State Park (in Cannon Beach) and Domaine Serene (in Dayton). Fly from Seattle to Portland in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In October in Portland, expect temperatures between 66°F during the day and 49°F at night. On the 26th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
