Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Start off your visit on the 23rd (Sun): tour the pleasant surroundings at Balnakeil Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Sango Bay, thenkick back and relax at Durness Beach, and finally don't miss a visit to Cairn House Gallery.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Explore Fort William's surroundings by going to Glenfinnan Viaduct (in Glenfinnan), Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror) and Arisaig (Camusdarach Beach & Arisaig Sea Kayak Centre). There's still lots to do: appreciate the views at Glen Coe, take in the dramatic scenery at Steall Waterfall, hike along Lost Valley Trail, and take in the awesome beauty at Ben Nevis.

You can drive from Durness to Fort William in 4 hours. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Edinburgh.
