Start off your visit on the 25th (Sat): contemplate the long history of The Real Mary King's Close. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 26th (Sun): examine the collection at Royal Yacht Britannia, take in the dramatic natural features at Arthur's Seat, then brush up on your knowledge of spirits at The Scotch Whisky Experience, and finally make a trip to The Royal Mile.

Gibraltar, Gibraltar to Edinburgh is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and train; or do a combination of car and train. The time zone difference when traveling from Gibraltar to Edinburgh is minus 1 hour. Traveling from Gibraltar in July, expect Edinburgh to be a bit cooler, temps between 22°C and 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Mon) so you can drive to Fort William.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Fort William: Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror), Morar Beach (in Morar) and Camusdarach Beach (in Arisaig). There's lots more to do: admire the sheer force of Steall Waterfall, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at The Three Sisters, enjoy some diversion at Ice Factor, and explore the activities along Loch Shiel.
