Picton

— 7 nights
Picton is an unincorporated community located in Prince Edward County in South Eastern Ontario, Canada, roughly 160 km east of Toronto. You'll explore and learn at Mad Dog Gallery and Andrew Csafordi Studio Gallery. Shop till you drop at the unGallery and Arts on Main Gallery. There's lots more to do: learn the secrets of beer at Sandbanks Vacations, view the masterpieces at Hatch Gallery, do a tasting at Sandbanks Estate Winery, and shop like a local with Oeno Gallery.

For maps, reviews, where to stay, and more tourist information, refer to the Picton itinerary builder site.

Toronto to Picton is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and taxi. In August, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sun) to allow enough time to fly back home.

Located at the edge of a headland in Lake Ontario's east, Prince Edward County offers plenty of waterfront scenery to enhance its reputatipon as an ecotourism destination. A long history of indigenous settlement can still be seen on a trip to Prince Edward County, with millennia-old historical sites dotted throughout the county. Surprisingly, the county's agreeable climate has led to the development of a wine region in the area, with upwards of 30 wineries producing high quality products. Despite this, temperatures regularly plunge below 0 C (32 F) during the winter months.
