A city famed for its underground music scene, Bergen also serves as the gateway to the fjords of Norway's western coastline.
Visiting Lille Lungegaardsvannet and Hardangerfjord will get you outdoors. Go for a jaunt from Bergen to Norheimsund to see Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall about 1h 25 min away. There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Vidden Trail between Mt. Floyen and Mt. Ulriken, take in the pleasant sights at Stoltzekleiven, and contemplate the long history of Troldhaugen Edvard Grieg Museum.

Getting from Oslo to Bergen by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. A lively seaport renowned for its high concentration of Art Nouveau buildings, Alesund stretches over seven islands and features a compact city center almost entirely surrounded by water.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Alnes Lighthouse, stroll through Borgernes veg and Aksla Stadion, and then take in the awesome beauty at Aksla Mountain.
