Louisbourg is an unincorporated community and former town located in Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Regional Municipality.HistoryThe French military founded the Fortress of Louisbourg in 1713 and its fortified seaport on the southwest part of the harbour, naming it in honour of Louis XIV. Get out of town with these interesting Louisbourg side-trips: Cape Breton Miners' Museum (in Glace Bay) and Sydney (Sydney Merchant Mariners Memorial, Jost House Museum, &more). There's still lots to do: explore the galleries of Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, enjoy the sea views from Louisbourg Lighthouse, take a leisurely stroll along Louisbourg Boardwalk Park and Boat Launch, and stroll through Louisbourg Lighthouse Coastal Trail.

Edmonton to Louisbourg is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time to Atlantic Standard Time, which is usually a 3 hour difference. Traveling from Edmonton in October, things will get somewhat warmer in Louisbourg: highs are around 17°C and lows about 6°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Baddeck.

For most visitors on holiday in Baddeck, the town represents the beginning and the end of the world-famous Cabot Trail, a scenic roadway looping around the northern tip of Cape Breton Island.
On the 20th (Tue), take in the dramatic scenery at Uisge Ban Falls, then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, and then browse the exhibits of Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. On your second day here, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Glenora Inn and Distillery and then cruise along Cabot Trail.

Wolfville is a Canadian town in the Annapolis Valley, Kings County, Nova Scotia, located about 100km northwest of the provincial capital, Halifax. On the 22nd (Thu), steep yourself in history at Grand Pre National Historic Site, grab your bike and head to Harvest Moon Trailway, then do a tasting at Gaspereau Vineyards, and finally admire all the interesting features of The K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre and Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens.
