Famous for being the birthplace of the Beatles, Liverpool is a vibrant city with an outstanding cultural heritage.
On the 18th (Tue), stroll the grounds of Liverpool Cathedral and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King Liverpool.

Windermere

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. Start off your visit on the 21st (Fri): explore the striking landscape at Helm Crag, contemplate the long history of Townend, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Helvellyn. On your second day here, steep yourself in history at Stott Park Bobbin Mill, shake up your sightseeing with a climbing tour, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Tarn Hows, and finally browse the exhibits of Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's House.

Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
York Castle Museum and National Railway Museum will appeal to museum buffs. York City Walls and York Minster are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around York: Whitby Abbey (in Whitby) and Fountains Abbey (in Ripon).
