Kick off your visit on the 15th (Thu): explore the activities along Lake Tjornin and then get thoroughly spooked out with a ghost and vampire tour. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Salka Whale Watching and The Húsavík Whale Museum. There's much more to do: take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, admire the sheer force of Hverfjall, admire the landmark architecture of Husavikurkirkja, and take in the dramatic natural features at Dimmuborgir Lava Formations.

Fly from Reykjavik to Husavik in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July, plan for daily highs up to 16°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Mon) so you can travel to Vik.
