Lihue or Līhue is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) and the county seat of Kauai County, Hawaii. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Lihue: Hanalei Beach (in Hanalei), Waimea (Puu Hinahina Lookout & Waimea Canyon State Park) and Na Pali Coast State Park (in Wainiha). In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.Step out of Honolulu to go to Kailua and see Kailua Beach Park, which is approximately 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Waikiki Beach, take in the dramatic scenery at Manoa Falls, explore the activities along Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, and take in the pleasant sights at Diamond Head State Monument.
