City of Smiles

Located on the sea, Aarhus blends a world city with a small-town feel. Home to a young population, the city has a reputation for producing internationally known pop and rock musicians.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sat): explore the world behind art at Aros Aarhus Kunstmuseum, then admire the landmark architecture of Aarhus Rådhus, and then pause for some photo ops at Vagnende kvinde (Aarhuspigen). On the 15th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get a new perspective on nature at Naturhistorisk Museum, engage your brain at Moesgaard Museum, and then stroll around Marselisborg Deer Park.

To find ratings, traveler tips, other places to visit, and tourist information, you can read our Aarhus holiday planning website.

Reykjavik, Iceland to Aarhus is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Reykjavik to Aarhus due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Reykjavik in November, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Aarhus: temperatures range from 9°C by day to 2°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sun) so you can go by car to Copenhagen.
