Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Gobustan is known for museums and historic sites. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve, don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes, and steep yourself in history at Diri Baba Mausoleum.

Doha, Qatar to Gobustan is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Doha to Gobustan. When traveling from Doha in August, plan for much colder days and slightly colder nights in Gobustan: temperatures range from 38°C by day to 26°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 8th (Sun) to allow time for the car ride to Baku.
