Asheville nestles between two major mountain ranges in the scenic western section of North Carolina.

Traveling from Greenville in October, things will get little chillier in Asheville: highs are around 70°F and lows about 47°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Pisgah Forest.

Pisgah Forest is an unincorporated community in Transylvania County, North Carolina, United States. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Looking Glass Falls and Davidson River Outfitters. Get in touch with nature at Pisgah National Forest and Sliding Rock.
