Officially an administrative district of Santarem, and unofficially the town's main selling point, Alter do Chao lies 33 km (21 mi) west of the town center.We've included these beaches for you: Alter do Chao Beach and Praia ilha do amor. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Museu Dica Frazao and Araribah. Explore Alter do Chao's surroundings by going to Belterra Plantation (in Belterra) and Santarem (Pajucara Beach, Joao Fona Cultural Center, &more).
