Konye-Urgench, also known as Kunya-Urgench, Old Urgench or Urganj, is a municipality of about 30,000 inhabitants in north Turkmenistan, just south from its border with Uzbekistan. Start off your visit on the 3rd (Tue): contemplate the long history of Kunya-Urgench, steep yourself in history at Turabek Khanum Mausoleum, contemplate the long history of Kutlug Timur Minaret, then steep yourself in history at Il Arslan Mausoleum, and finally make a trip to Konye Urgenc.

You can do a combination of flight and taxi from Mary to Kunya-Urgench in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of train and taxi.
