Green Pearl of Adriatic

One of northern Italy's most popular seaside resorts, Riccione is known as the Green Pearl of the Adriatic for its tree-lined streets and numerous gardens.
Get out of town with these interesting Riccione side-trips: Grotte di Frasassi (in Genga), Santuario Della Santa Casa (in Loreto) and Azienda Agraria Guerrieri (in Piagge). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 25th (Wed) at Aquafan. There's still lots to do: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Oltremare, enjoy the sand and surf at Playa del Sol, observe the fascinating underwater world at Acquario di Cattolica, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Bagni 120 Riccione.

For where to stay, maps, traveler tips, and more tourist information, read our Riccione day trip planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Federico Fellini International Airport, Marche Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 84°F, and evening lows to 68°F.
