The tourist-oriented town of Quepos marks the entrance for many travelers looking to explore the nearby national park.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Rancho Tipico Don Juan and Playa Espadilla Norte. Change things up with these side-trips from Quepos: Dominical (Parque Reptilandia & Mama Toucan's Natural and Organic Food Store), Palo Seco Beach (in Parrita) and Playa Bejuco (in Esterillos Este). Make the 16th (Thu) an awe-inspiring day at Naturalist Michael Araya Flores. There's still lots to do: soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Matapalo, look for gifts at Jaime Peligro Book & CD Shop, and delve into the lush surroundings at Kids Saving the Rain Forest.

To find where to stay, ratings, reviews, and more tourist information, you can read our Quepos trip itinerary website .

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major airports are Tobias Bolanos International Airport, Juan Santamaria International Airport and Limon International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 80°F in August, and nighttime lows around 67°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
