Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. jurisdiction and one of the oldest in the Americas.
On the 2nd (Fri), enjoy the sand and surf at Condado Beach, then explore the world behind art at Museo de Las Americas, and then get to know the fascinating history of Sitio Histórico de San Juan. For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 4th (Sun), enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Media Luna, add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Caracas. On your second day here, take a leisurely stroll along Malecon, then kick back and relax at Playa La Chiva, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Pata Prieta.

You can fly from San Juan to Isla de Vieques in 2 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of shuttle and ferry. In April, daytime highs in Isla de Vieques are 85°F, while nighttime lows are 75°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Mon) so you can travel to Aguadilla.
