Sandy beaches, good surfing, and affordable dining draw an increasing number of tourists to vacation in Sayulita, a smaller and less hectic alternative to nearby Puerto Vallarta.
On the 13th (Sat), get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, then kick back and relax at Nuevo Vallarta Beach, and then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, step off the mainland to explore Marietas Islands, and then play a few rounds at Punta Mita Golf Course.

Probably one of Mexico's best-known beach resorts, Acapulco came into prominence in the mid-20th century, when it became a getaway for Hollywood movie starts and European millionaires.
On the 16th (Tue), take in the dramatic natural features at La Quebrada, admire the landmark architecture of Capilla de la Paz (Chapel of Peace), and then kick back and relax at Playas Caleta y Caletilla.

You can fly from Mazatlan to Acapulco in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus.
