Theme Park Capital of the World

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Plant Street Market and Lake Meadow Naturals. Museum-lovers will appreciate Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Go for a jaunt from Orlando to Merritt Island to see Space Shuttle Atlantis about 1h 10 min away. And it doesn't end there: discover the magic at Happily Ever After Fireworks, find something for the whole family at Universal's Islands of Adventure, and make a splash at Discovery Cove.

Monroe to Orlando is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Monroe to Orlando. In March, Orlando is somewhat warmer than Monroe - with highs of 78°F and lows of 58°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Tampa.

Tampa ranks among the country's most livable cities, attracting newcomers with its growing economy and status as a major port on the Gulf of Mexico.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Duncan McClellan Gallery and Jon Hair Monumental Sculpture. Escape the urban bustle at Scuba & Snorkeling and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. You can drive from Orlando to Tampa in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In March in Tampa, expect temperatures between 77°F during the day and 59°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
