Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll

The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Memphis Riverboats, Theatre Memphis and Old Dominick Distillery. Visiting Hampson Archeological Museum State Park and Natchez Trace Pkwy will get you outdoors. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Graceland and The Peabody Ducks. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Memphis: Tunica (Horseshoe Tunica & Willows Sporting Clays), Rowan Oak (in Oxford) and Parkin Archeological State Park (in Parkin). Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Sun Studio, admire the masterpieces at Belz Museum of Asian & Judaic Art, explore the galleries of Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center, and identify plant and animal life at Overton Park.
