Levi — 2 nights

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.Kids will enjoy Levi Ski Resort and Icekarting Levi. Get out of town with these interesting Levi side-trips: Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila) and Safartica Yllas (in Yllasjarvi).

Newark, USA to Levi is an approximately 19.5-hour combination of flight and car. You'll lose 7 hours traveling from Newark to Levi due to the time zone difference. In December, Levi is much colder than Newark - with highs of 22°F and lows of 8°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Rovaniemi.

Rovaniemi — 3 nights

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.Bring the kids along to Santa Claus Village and Santa Claus Office. Step out of Rovaniemi with an excursion to Ranua Zoo in Ranua--about 1 hour away. There's much more to do: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, don't miss a visit to Lordi's Square, and get curious at Science Centre Pilke.

Drive from Levi to Rovaniemi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In December, plan for daily highs up to 22°F, and evening lows to 11°F. On the 1st (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
