Valley of the Vapors

Set deep in the Ouachita Mountains, the city of Hot Springs almost completely surrounds the national park of the same name.
Step out of the city life by going to Zipline and Lake Ouachita. Let the collections at Mid-America Science Museum and Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site capture your imagination. Venture out of the city with trips to Little Rock (Esse Purse Museum & Store & William J. Clinton Presidential Library). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Fordyce Bathhouse, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Anthony Chapel, tour the pleasant surroundings at Arkansas Alligator Farm & Petting Zoo, and make a splash at Magic Springs Theme and Water Park.

Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, the whole town of Eureka Springs is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
On the 6th (Mon), visit Eureka Springs Historical Downtown, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Thorncrown Chapel, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Blue Spring Heritage Center, and finally explore the activities along Beaver Lake. On the 7th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get your game on at Buster's Old Time Photos, then gain insight at Titanic Museum, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Moonshine Beach.

Traveling by car from Hot Springs to Eureka Springs takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. While traveling from Hot Springs, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Eureka Springs, ranging from highs of 87°F to lows of 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 8th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive back home.
