The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Tenjin Central Park, Bayside Place Hakata, Kego Shrine, and other attractions. Start off your visit on the 30th (Tue): get a taste of local nightlife at Nakasu.
