Gateway to Burgundy

Brussels, Belgium to Dijon is an approximately 5.5-hour combination of flight and train. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Brussels in August: highs in Dijon hover around 29°C, while lows dip to 17°C. On the 11th (Thu), you're off to Lyon.

Culinary Capital of France
Lyon is a historical city with a vibrant cultural scene as the birthplace of cinema, the silk capital of the globe, and the second biggest Renaissance city following Venice.Take a break from the city and head to Grottes du Cerdon -Parc de Loisirs Prehistoriques and Mont Saint-Romain. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lyon: Carrieres de Glay (in Saint-Germain-Nuelles) and Go & Sea (in Chene-en-Semine). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Le Mur de Lyon and admire the landmark architecture of Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere.

Getting from Dijon to Lyon by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. In August, daily temperatures in Lyon can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) to allow enough time to fly to Paris.
