The medieval town of Bruges centers around a canal, and the architecture of its historical district has made it a World Heritage Site.
Change things up with these side-trips from Bruges: Ghent (Belfry and Cloth Hall (Belfort en Lakenhalle), Saint Bavo's Cathedral, & more) and Menin Gate Memorial (in Ieper (Ypres)).
