The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Popular historic sites such as Haedong Yonggungsa and Yeojwacheon Stream are in your itinerary. You'll get in some beach time at Haeundae Beach and Songjeong Beach. Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Andong Hahoe Folk Village and Sosuseowon Confucian Academy. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Buseoksa Temple and Cheongnyangsa Temple. When in Andong, make a side trip to see Juwangsan National Park in Cheongsong-gun, approximately Cheongsong-gun away.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Take a break from the city and head to Jeongdongjin Beach and Gangmun Beach. Your inner history buff will appreciate Woljeongsa Temple and Naksansa Temple. Step out of Gangneung to go to Sokcho and see Seoraksan National Park, which is approximately 1h 40 min away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Gyeongpo Beach and get curious at Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum.

Cheongju — 3 nights

Cheongju is the capital and largest city of North Chungcheong Province in South Korea.HistoryCheongju has been an important provincial town since ancient times.During Hideyoshi's Invasions of Korea, Cheongju was the site of the Battle of Chongju, during which the Korean forces re-took the city from the Japanese forces in an important early victory.The government of the province relocated here from Chungju in 1908.The opening of the Chungbuk-line in 1926 sparked regional development.
