The sleepy market town of Kabale in Western Uganda, although meagre in sights of its own, boasts close proximity to several national parks, just a couple of miles from the border with Rwanda.
Step out of the city life by going to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Kayaking & Canoeing. Go for a jaunt from Kabale to Kisoro to see Virunga Volcanoes about 1h 40 min away. There's much more to do: head outdoors with Lake Bunyonyi, look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, tee off at Kabale Golf Course, and pause for some serene contemplation at All Saints Church.
